|
|
January 28, 2001 Aurora, OR, USA A canoe trip turned life-threatening on Sunday afternoon when the rushing waters of the Pudding River capsized a vessel carrying a dog and two men. The two men were thrown from the canoe, and Jasper the dog jumped out of the boat, managing to stay with them until help arrived. Their calls for help were heard by people at a nearby go-cart track who telephoned 911, and rescuers soon reached the scene west of Aurora, Oregon.

Jasper, Pete Springer and a friend were quickly and safely pulled from the chilly waters, and the men were transported to a local hospital. All are reported to be in good condition. Related articles: §§§ |
