Pub's Latest Pool-Shark is a Dog |
March 21, 2001 Colchester, UK Hustlers beware—there's a new game in town.
While most dogs her age are happy retrieving tennis balls, Rizla the 5-year-old Staffordshire bull terrier prefers a more challenging sport: billiards. Hailed as the world's only pool-playing pooch, she impresses even the most seasoned pros with her patented cue-snout method of sinking the balls, not quitting until every one has been potted. Owner Trish Barn has no idea what got the dog interested in the game. Says Ms. Barn, "He just ended up on the pool table one day, it was really weird." |
Rizla currently puts on a show for visitors, locals and regulars at the Victoria Inn on North Station Road, a pub she calls home. There you'll find Rizla showing off her unique mastery of pocket billiards. ...Although I'm sure she does "scratch" on occasion. §§§
