Convicted Dog-Killer's Sentence: Read 'Lassie' |
|
|
April 24, 2001 Oooh, remind me not to assault anybody in North Carolina. They might force me to watch "The Three Stooges". 19-year-old Jason Vincent Ravels pleaded guilty to skinning and beheading a dog in North Carolina Superior Court today. While animal cruelty is punishable as a felony in N.C., other state sentencing rules rendered him ineligible for prison sentencing. Superior Court Judge Claude Sitton sentenced him to three years probation and ordered him to read the "Lassie" books. Revels has had prior convictions for marijuana possession and assault with a deadly weapon.
