UNITED KINGDOM — Who's the clumsiest dog in world? If it's any indication, new research conducted by Tesco Pet Insurance shows that the most accident-prone dog in the United Kingdom is the Chocolate Lab. This conclusion was determined based on the insurance claims made by pet owners and includes dogs' illnesses and veterinary care. According to the study, 55% of registered Chocolate Labrador Retrievers make at least one claim per year. A close second is the Staffordshire Bull Terrier with 52% needing unexpected trips to the vet, followed by Rottweilers (44%), Springer Spaniels and German Shepherds. The least accident-prone dogs are Shih-Tzus (22%) and Poodles (20%). Scoop investigative reporters are currently conducting a similar study by observing the effects of releasing various types of dogs in ceramic art galleries and antique glass shops. We'll let you know the results as soon as we finish cleaning up ...and explaining. |
