Last week, a one-year-old English Setter puppy named
"Sonny" went hunting with 42-year-old Michael Murray and used a
12-gauge shotgun
to bag Mr. Murray's right ankle.
Saturday was the first day of hunting season in South Dakota, and
Mr. Murray, and other hunters, having just shot seven birds in one
hour, were posing for a photo when Sonny decided to get in the shot—or
rather, get a shot in. The frisky pup stepped on the trigger
of a loaded shotgun causing the firearm to discharge and hit Mr.
Murray.
"At first I didn't know what happened," Mr. Murray told
the St. Paul Pioneer Press. "I got that blinding flash of
pain and I sat down. Blood was pumping out of my ankle.
"Sonny just laid by my side. He knew something was
bad."

not sure if the 'puppy-dog eyes' routine will get you out of this

Mr. Murray, of Brooklyn Park, Wisconsin, was taken to a local South Dakota
hospital where he received 15 stitches and was released the next day.
"It was the most bizarre thing that has ever happened to me,"
he said.
