I am glad to find your pages. I am writting a history paper on 9-11 and didn't want to write about the bad stuff, so after reading about the dogs. I have picked them as my story - the heros at 9-11. But I want to know more. Is there a statue dedicated to the k-9's? And if not. Why not? After all they worked right along with people and just as hard. In fact if it wasn't for their ablity to smell out things. We might have missed so much. I want to know if we can get a statue built of the brave k-9's. About 350 k-9's went to work searching and only one died that day.Can I write to the Mayor of New York and ask him about a statue for our little heros? My family and I went to NY in July, I didn't see anything at ground zero. Since the city can't decide what to put there, wouldn't a statue for the K-9's be a good thing to have?I beleive something should be done. Can you help me do this? Afterall we have stamps, statues and holidays for special people who have made a difference. What about the K-9's?

What a wonderful tribute to the canine heroes. They gave their all during the search and rescue efforts.

I thought that this site was very useful because i had to do a report on animal heros over Winter Vacation, and chose a story about a K-9 rescue from this page. Thanks!!!
